We went back to da hood today. It was hot as hell, but we didn't get shot or any bricks bounced off our heads.
Same old dirty looks and stares, but we did get two, " thank yous ".
One of them was from an old black lady standing in an above ground pool. We could only see the top half of her face as she talked. It reminded me of " Kilroy ". 
As she talked, it became apparent that she was cleaning the pool liner with a plastic snow shovel. 
Anyway, she thanked us for boarding up the house behind hers. Yelling over the noise of her 2 1/4 lb. dog trying to eat the chain link fence so it can kill us she said, " Doze kids be breakin' da glass and gettin' in. I don't know what dey be doin' up in there. This is an emergency ! "
We be goin' back up there tomorrow. I kinda missed goin' up there.

Kim, ride along and spend a morning with us in Castle Point. I'll show you some, " real folks ".
Real gang thugs, real prejudice, and real obvious about it. None of that t.v. version of chit.
If we show up at an address, and there is someone in the house, we are required to call the law. Every time that has happened, the occupants went to jail. You think the neighbors aren't watching that ? You think they aren't related to, or associated with the folks we just sent to jail ?
The problem is, the same two white boys will soon be at another house on that block. Often, we go back to the same address. We've been to some a half a dozen times.
Don't get me wrong, the older folks thank us for boarding up the vacant houses. They're stuck in that environment, and have to make the best of it.
I feel sorry for them, black and white alike.

Dude I can only begin to imagine 
The lil goof goes thru the same chit pretty regular. He's had guns pulled on him,,been cut with knives,,had his bean busted with beer bottles and keeps goin back....Ain't sure how much longer he'll stay after it 10 years of that chit is a long time for a kid that has a kid Think he needs a lil break,,,,but he ain't gonna quit either....Last time he had a pistol shoved in his face sorta made him think about some things,,,just lucky when the the trigger tripped it went click He still got to go home and see the baby,,,after he whipped some azz...
Yep folks is folks,,,,Ya gotta love em or you'd kill half of em..

Needed a microwave  Heck I just been sittin chit out in the sun.....gonna do ribs today wrapped in foil and laid on the sidewalk if it don't rain
